Application for Membership

We invite you to join the New Mexico Behavioral Health Providers Association to connect with the New Mexico behavioral health provider network. Gain access to vital resources and advocacy, voicing your concerns, issues, and ideas with providers, state agencies, MCO’s building connections and visibility in the behavioral health community.

Benefits of membership

In recent years, we've seen attention to behavioral health skyrocket. The 2025 NM legislative session included dozens of important bills affecting behavioral health, and your NMHPA members and lobbyist team were there for all of them. In Washington DC, the National Council for Mental Well-Being is intensely engaged in advocacy to support behavioral health nationwide, and to protect Medicaid and Medicare spending on behavioral healthcare. Your membership in the NMBHPA means you'll hear about all these issues and have the opportunity to weigh in on behalf of your staff, clients and patients.

  • Networking and Resource Sharing: Connect with over 65 publicly funded behavioral healthcare providers in New Mexico. Participate in meetings presented by NMBHPA on State, MCOs, providers, and agency announcements, alerts, and updates.
  • Advocacy and Representation: NMBHPA provides behavioral health policy and strong legislative advocacy.  Be part of a collective voice advocating for the interests of behavioral health providers in New Mexico.
  • Visibility: Increase visibility within the behavioral health community and potential clients.
  • Research and Data: Receive access to relevant research findings, data, and reports related to behavioral health in New Mexico.
  • Member Communications: Receive regular updates and communications to stay informed about association activities and behavior health community news. Access member-only discussion groups to facilitate communication and information exchange.
  • National Council for Mental Wellbeing: As a member of NMBHPA you will gain full membership of the National Council with full benefits (an approximate value of $5,500!), including access to their resources, training, and advocacy support. You will receive a welcome packet from the National Council to take full advantage of being a member.
  • Join us for our Annual Conference on August 4-5, 2025.

Become part of a collective force driving positive change in behavioral healthcare. Together, we can build a stronger, more sustainable behavioral health system for New Mexico.

Membership Categories and Annual Dues are recommended by the Board of Directors and approved by the Membership annually. Annual Dues apply to the Fiscal Year, July 1 – June 30, and are invoiced to members and are due July 15 each year. Members may select an option for a partial payment in July and October. Members who join after December 1, will have prorated dues based on the number of months remaining through June.

The Association recognizes the four types of membership. All members must be actively involved in providing publicly funded behavioral health care in New Mexico.
